ABOUT JOHN LEAHY

 WHAT'S NEW:

Now on sale, my second book!  It is called "Calling the Shots". It is my autobiography to this point and how I came to work in the sports broadcasting business. Click on the link on my home page to purchase a copy!

I have begun a new venture here on the website at Leahy Enterprises... streaming of live sports events here at www.johnrleahy.com. It is a new concept with some fairly new technology. I will be posting the dates of upcoming events on the home page, so please stay tuned for those dates. Do you have a sports event that you would like to have streamed on the Internet?  Contact me at jleahy14@comcast.net  with details. I am always looking forward to broadcasting events! I am looking to do events from high school level on up. Internet access at your venue would be strongly preferred, but if possible the game could be streamed over the 3G cellular network if there is no Internet connection. In addition, I will also be doing some live music programming as well over the website. Stay tuned for details!

My first book, " Living A King's Life" is NOW ON SALE as well! Before the 2009 baseball season started, I was committed to write a book about minor league baseball and broadcasting. It was my hope that I could shed some light on what it is like to experience life on the road with a minor league team and what it is like. Living A King's Life is my account of the 2009 Kalamazoo Kings season as seen from the broadcast booth. It is a day by day diary of my year in 2009 with the Kings and what it was like. If you are interested in learning more about the book, please feel free to visit http://www.publishamerica.net/product92257.html. The book is now also available through www.barnesandnoble.com.  The book will also be available on CD soon!  More details as they occur.

On November 27, 2007, John was behind the mike for his first ever Division 1 basketball game at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI, as the Maine Black Bears took on the Providence Friars. He filled in on WVOM, the Maine radio station, as a replacement for the regular play-by-play announcer, Ron Lisnet.

John has also done play-by-play for the Yawkey League of Boston on the Comcast television network. The Yawkey League is comprised of collegiate level baseball teams located in the metropolitan Boston area with franchises blanketing the entire metro region.
