“I’ve had the pleasure of working with John since the 2009-10 season calling NCAA Division I hockey broadcasts for Merrimack College. John takes his job very seriously and is a consummate professional. He is one of the most well-prepared broadcasters I have ever worked with, whether it involves studying up on game notes or having every piece of pertinent information at his fingertips on his laptop. John’s position requires him to effectively produce the broadcast on site at the same time that he is calling the game, no small task as it includes cueing up and playing spots live or doing drop-ins, managing the Internet broadcast along with the connection to the station, and collaborating at home games with the crew at Pack Networks, who use our audio feed for the video simulcast. In addition, his style brings excitement to the game and broadcast, and he has a “great set of pipes”. I also appreciate that as color analyst, he affords me the latitude and opportunity to do my job, and our styles seem to complement each other well. It is truly a team effort. I strongly recommend John to anyone fortunate enough to have the chance to work with him! ”
